A Career in Early Years

Working in Childcare

Working with Young Children can be extremely rewarding. It is a privilege to shape a child’s early experiences and ensure they have the skills for lifelong learning. There are many career routes to becoming an Early Years Educator and lots of opportunity for career progression.

Here are what some of our Early Years Educators in Sefton say about the best things about working in Early Years:

‘I love young children's honesty and unwavering passion for fun and adventures. Watching children grow and develop - challenging themselves and growing in self-confidence brings so much enjoyment to the career.’

‘You definitely smile every day.’

‘Making a difference, building strong lasting relationships, fun and laughter! Never a dull moment.’

‘Being able to experience the imagination of a child! We are so lucky - we get to provide a broad introduction into some the most exciting and wonderous aspects of life. We welcome children to planet earth and give them a year-long orientation!’

Being able to have fun with the children and know that they are learning without them knowing it!

‘I love seeing those children who struggled to leave parents in September, running into nursery confidently and not wanting to go home at the end of the day.’

‘Early years is so much about being in a team and I find this supportive for all staff in our team.’
